The aim of KNWC is to provide much needed support services in the increasingly competitive world of grant, trust and foundation funding.
Our ambition is to leave small, medium and large charitable organisations in the third sector in a better position than when they asked for our support.
We have five main support offers in the form of bid writing, application review/ amendment, project development, training and organisational coaching. We also aim to provide tailored support for smaller organisations who are unable to afford the direct support.
Who are we?
Kemar Walford is the sole proprietor of KN Walford Consultancy Ltd (KNWC) with over 10 years of experience in Fundraising and the wider Third Sector.
KNWC is a company developed from my passion for helping the small and undervalued charities deliver something special within their communities. Having spent 10 years worked on the other side of the sector for the UK’s biggest funding distributor. I felt that so many charities were struggling with the questions being asked of them and I could do something about it. I felt that using my skills, experiences and knowledge of grant assessment and management I could make that difference.
My experience includes working with mainstream charities such as London Youth, Caritas Anchor House, Ladies Who Learn and the Bromley by Bow Centre. I worked for the Big Lottery Fund for the bulk of my career in grant assessment, management and more recently supporting groups in the West Midlands and East & West London. I also volunteered as a mentor working for Sported in the West Midlands to capacity build small community based sports groups.
I have a wealth of experience working as a fundraising consultant, mainly for small to medium size charities across London. I am also the Chair of a special interest group of the Institute of Fundraising (Black Fundraiser’s UK).

"Kemar Walford was hired to provide consultancy support for several groups on the Avocado project. He has been highly effective in providing a high standard of organisational development support, general advice and fundraising support to three organisations ultimately securing them funding.
He has also provided a great deal of support in developing key reporting documents and supported me in the delivery of training courses throughout the two year programme. Kemar is highly skilled and often becomes truly invested in the projects and organisations he supports."

"SMEF is a Surrey based community organisation we were fortunate to be supported by Kemar Walford to help our organisation become more sustainable for the future. Kemar conducted a rigorous analysis of our needs and aspirations, he reviewed our Policies and procedures and identified gaps and advised us on how to fill these.
We were supported to develop our Business Plan, a Fundraising Strategy and Case for Support. He provided us with a list of potential Funders and made useful comments on our fundraising applications. I would highly recommend his services to any Charity wanting to remain sustainable, his ability to act as a critical friend and at the same time provide practical solutions to problems was invaluable for our Trustees."
